I don't think image tutorials are that good because it's not unique. If you really want to make unique images, just download a free program like paint.net or the gimp and just play around. Thats where the most interesting work comes from, from just playing around.

You just reminded me how much I miss making artwork by hand...

Well, I'd say you could always use Paintbrush, but it was a fairly simple program at first (good for simple pics, nothing complex) and everytime Microsoft put out a update (XP, Vista...), the program took more space and became worse.

Do you have Nero PhotoSnap at all? When I play around and make images, I usually use Photoshop and Nero PhotoSnap both, heavier on the PhotoSnap. Both programs came with my computer (it was built in a little shop outside Camp Carroll, South Korea-land of bootlegged copies). I don't know if mine is genuine or bootleg... I'm working on getting most of my computer rebuilt, though, so I'll be getting real versions, regardless.

Lots of 'vignette' and 'kaleidoscope' using Nero PhotoSnap...

Actually, I used those two functions (and others, of course) for all the pics I posted...well, except for the last one...I only tweaked the saturation on the pic at that point. I suggest using a picture with multiple colors and using kaleidoscope at least twice. You can always play with the color again later. If you can't change the colors later on because the colors are not mixed enough to change the levels of red, blue, and green, use 'convert to gray scale' and then try playing with 'color balance', again.

Also, to make your pics look even better, try a few of Photoshop's filters. If it won't open in PhotoSnap again after that, open it in Photoshop and resave it as a .jpg (Photoshop's default file type is .psd).

Well, Anton LaVey's baphomet/pentagram, the Rammstein song title, and your choice in colors fit together pretty well. I don't know about anyone else, but I like it. A little more black or DARK, DARK red might look good, too.

Make mini mountains --> color the mountains green/red<keep changing shades..
Invert colors --> effects --> oil painting x2 --> glow --> glass effect.

I don't remember EXACTLY which pic I used to make it, just that it had to have either started out as a paw-print, or the dragonfly pic I took with my cell phone in Korea. That's what all my Photoshop patterns started out as...a paw-print or a dragonfly. I messed around with other pics, but never made any kinds of designs with them.

I can tell you this...it was in the same folder as the 'green swirl' I use as my current MySpace background, which means they were created from the same pic.

I like your page. Another way to put it together would be to post a thumbnail of the image and have it work as a link to a pop-up with the URL for the image and a larger pic of it. Personally, though, that method annoys me. Creating a simple link looks better in my opinion. I don't think the order of the wallpapers matters, either. I just noticed that BBarash has the most pics in there and I run a close second.

Take the gradient effect, any color and hold at the top, then drag to the bottom till the whole thing is gradient-ed..
Then go to Effects-->Distort-->Polar Inversion.

I used the tile reflection filter, on top of a gradient and with a few other gradient levels on top (with weird blending modes). I was just playing around for a while, and made it.

Well, I found this tutorial on Paint.net forums so I followed the first 4 steps, but then desided that it was boring, SO. thats pretty good... actually i wonder if anyone cna help me with this... the one thing i always seem to have problems with is cutting out parts of an image. for example if i had a photo of me an i wanted to to cut me out and place me on another background, how would i do that so that it looks almost perfect?

I usually go between the wand tool and the eraser tool. The wand tool misses out sometimes, so I zoom in on the image and erase whatever I don't need. :D

Not nearly as bad as me. I use CSS tabs cause I suck too bad in image design. lol
